calendars

Mon Feb 5, 2007, 12:58 AM
i grew up in a household where calendars featured nature and beauty of my native country. i greeted each month with images of landscapes of armenia. for some that dont know where armenia is..its a land locked nation situated in the caucus mountain range. next to turkey, north of iran. as i would eat my cereal in the mornings, looking at the calendar, i would wonder who decided what images would be pretty enough to be in a calendar.

as i grew older i realized that not all calendars were landscape pictures of the country side but some people actually liked looking at dogs, or cars or scantily clad women and grease chested men. as i was looking over the prints features of DA i noticed that there was a calendar section...so i thought that i would put up my own calendar...but what would my pictures be? no i am the one who decides what images would be pretty enough to be in the calendar......so now i'm off to find images pretty enough to be in my calendar......since i dont have funds to build sets and rely on mostly nature as my subject...i think it will take me all year to fill up my portfolio for my calendar. so now i'm off.....i'm already a month behind! if anyone has any ideas for themes shoot them my way!

Hmm... I know it's been done before (erm, but what hasnt?), what about something horoscope related? Finding scenes or images that somehow reflect or portray the classic starsigns.

What else comes in 12's... eggs. Oh. Hmm.

Johnny Walker cans come in 12's. A running tally of alcohol consumption. Gods, I'd need a panoramic lens by April.

Although easy to imagine, what about monthly shots of just one scene, taken from precisely the same point, showing 12 facets of one place?
